Photo A Day Challenge January 2010

January 7, 2010

Well to start off my New Year, i decided to begin with a “Photo A Day” challenge… for this month.
I’d love to take it even further, and have a go at each month, but we’ll wait and see…

I’ve been slack with my blog lately, so here’s a catch up on the past 6 days of my challenge;

Day 1

“Soot Sprites”

Hand drawn by me… i had no idea how to start my challenge, so thought i’d do a bit of a doodle, and here’s what i came up with…

Day 2

“See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil”

I’d been wanting to do something like this for a quite a while, but wasn’t sure how to tackle it. On my 2nd day of my challenge i decided to take the plunge and just have a go at merging layers. And well what do you know… i came up with a mighty fine effort if i do say so myself…

p.s Just for the record, no I don’t have triplets, this is my daughter Darcy, 3 seperate shots merged.

Day 3

“Star Wars Reunion – The Dark Side”

For Day 3, it was almost sundown when i had finally got the idea to get Zachery to bring out his Lego Starwars Figurines… we had a great old time setting them up all over the backyard… but finally after many setups this one stood out the most.

Day 4

“Sweet Lips”

For the 4th day, as promised from the night before, i treated the kids to icecream with all the sprinkles and 100’s & 1000’s they could pile on top.

There wasn’t many sprinkles left in the little bag they came from, so the idea was invented to use them up in a challenge… of course the idea was such a novelty, all 3 kids rose to the challenge… here’s the one with my  eldest child…

Day 5

“See Your True Colours”

Now for Day 5… it was overcast throughout most of the day… even a few rainshowers… And so the kids kept asking if they could go out and play… One of my children, (can’t remember who now) asked if they could use the “Special” Umbrella, which i really only use for photo sessions.

So as soon as we caught a little bit of sunshine, out we went for a mini photo session in the backyard…
This photo has now become my Most Favourite of all.
The colours, his expression, i just LOVE everything about this photo!!

Day 6

“Tilly & Ginney the Horse (2 of 4)”

Today was Dress up day, and so my baby girl wanted to be a fairy riding her horse Ginney…

The perfect opportunity for a photo session!

Here’s a Storyboard i made of a few photos:
